On 9th of October, 2018, Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) conducted the 7th Annual Congress at the Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Hotel. International and regional experts and stakeholders convened for this one-day flagship event.

With a theme on Targeting Zero: A Vision for Future Cities, the congress aims to discuss and present the role of net zero in achieving sustainable built environments in line with UAE Vision 2021 and the objectives of the Paris COP21 Climate Agreement.

The Congress was inspired by three sub-themes: Inspired Cities, Collaborative Cities and Holistic Cities which are closely related to the values championed by the late Sheikh Sayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as the UAE marks the Year of Zayed in commemoration of his 100th birth anniversary this year.

The event was highlighted by Eng. Hussain Hassan Khansaheb, Director of Partnerships & Special Projects, Ministry of Climate Change & Environment in his speech during the opening ceremonies.

Part of the Congress agenda underscored different presentations as well as panel discussions on collaborations and learning more about Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment.
